Yesterday we did a walking tour out of the guidebook of the old Beijing Huitong, which I think means neighborhood. It took a really long time to get to the starting point, after a taxi dropped us off at the wrong place. It is really difficult to travel here, and we’ll write more about that as we go along.

Anyway, one of the stops was this exercise park. Here are some Chinese playing ping pong. There were also some exercise machines that looked sort of like children’s play equipment, but meant for adults. While taking this photo, standing behind us was a Chinese man jumping rope in a speedo. He was bald and I swear could have been 70 years old, and there were a few people watching him. I thought about taking a photo but thought that might be rude.
